Legal relations of purchase of products of agricultural producers and suppliers and commercial networks to be clarified
1 / 15

New regulations will be established in order to clarify the legal relations of purchase of products of agricultural producers and suppliers and trade networks in the Republic of Armenia: the Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan mentioned.

The Competition Protection Commission has initiated legislative amendments in the laws on Protection of Economic Competition and Trade and Services, which are aimed at balancing trade network-supplier relations, which will contribute to the implementation of fair trade, including improving the competitive environment and increasing the protection of consumer rights.

In order to protect the interests of medium-sized businesses in our country, to improve the market and to eliminate the problems regarding competition, a working debate was held on June 6 at Babken Tunyan’s initiative, which was attended by the Committee members Hovik Aghazaryan, Narek Ghahramanyan, Hayk Tsirunyan, the Chairman of the Competition Protection Commission Gegham Gevorgyan and several entities.

According to Gegham Gevorgyan, the regulation is everyone’s idea, the concerns of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) Council, business needs, and the experience of different countries were taken into consideration.

According to the Deputy Chair of the Committee, different areas of business have their opinion on the regulation.

Large entities, that is representatives of trade networks, stated that they want to make the payments for the delivered product as late as possible. According to the entities, the regulation will cause inconvenience to them: suppliers and trade networks are able to regulate their relations without any decision.

Summarizing the meeting, Babken Tunyan mentioned that such meetings will be continuous until elaborating the draft, because it is important to listen to the opinions of representatives of all sectors, so that there are no misunderstandings after the adoption of the law.
